Cargo Hook Service and Overhaul
"Drallim Industries Aerospace Division"
All Drallim Aerospace Cargo Hook systems are designed and built to provide a long life and will serve Helicopter operators for many years providing the recommended Service & Overhaul regime is observed.
How often should I service my Cargo Hook?
For normal duty the Hawk range of Cargo Hooks, which currently comprises the Hawk 1500kg hook, Hawk 4,000kg hook, 8,000kg hook& Hawk 10000lb,typically requires servicing every 500hrs of external load operations, or 30 Months, whichever occurs sooner. When used in more sever dusty or marine environments this changes to or every 250 Hours of external load operations or 15 months, whichever occurs sooner
What about cargo hook overhauls?
A full overhaul of the hook is required after 1,500 hours of external load operations, or 5 years (normal duty) whichever occurs first, or after 750 Hours of external load operations or 2.5 Years (severe duty) whichever occurs sooner.
Who Can Service My Cargo Hook?
The Servicing of cargo hooks and associated ancillary parts can be serviced by Drallim aerospace at our international service centre or can be undertaken by any EASA 145 approved Organisation authorised by Drallim Aerospace. But overhaul, due to its extensive non-destructive testing and replacement of critical parts, should only be carried out at our international service centre.
What about SACRU models?
(Semi-Automatic Cargo Release Unit) Are designed for aircraft lifting up to 6,000lbs (2,722 Kg) and is extensively used by the British Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. The SACRU 1 Mk 2 has EMC protection and has been selected and approved by Agusta Westland for EH101 Navy Merlin MK1. The design is of simple construction involving no delicate mechanisms for fine adjustment. Certified by the CAA, variants of this cargo hook are also available as an FAA and Transport Canada approved bolt on replacement hook for the Bell 204 through 412 series helicopters. The SACRU 1 is now available with load measurement to enabling pilots to monitor the load on the airframe by verifying the cargo's weight
The SACRU 2 is designed for helicopters lifting up to 3,300 lbs (1497Kg) and is extensively used by the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Army on the Lynx, Super Lynx, Wildcat and Gazelle helicopters. The SACRU 2 Mk 2 is configured for use on the Airbus Helicopters AS365 Dauphin helicopter. The design is of simple construction involving no delicate mechanisms for fine adjustment. Variants of this cargo hook are also installed on the Hindustan Aeronautics Advanced Light Helicopter. The SACRU 2 is now available with load measurement capabilities to enable pilots to monitor the load on the airframe by verifying the cargo's weight..
