DC Test Sets

The PTS Portable DC Test Set Series of CE marked products are combination high voltage DC proof testers and HV Megohmmeters. Testing for dielectric strength and insulation resistance is now served with one instrument, saving money, size and weight. The PTS series is designed and constructed with field use in mind.

It is rugged, reliable and contains all of the features needed for electrical maintenance testing of new or installed electrical apparatus. Three one piece construction models are available: 37.5kV, 75kV and 80kV rated up to 10mA. Our 100kV, 130kV, 200kV and 300kV models are designed with separate controls and HV tank. They are fully adjustable and may be used to their full rating for either Hipot or Megohmmeter applications. The PTS series contains numerous features that make it the best Hipot/Megohmmeter available. Like all High Voltage, Inc. equipment, the PTS series is newly designed, incorporating the latest advances in high voltage technology. No other instrument offers the features, quality and reliability offered here.

  • The PTS Series can be used as a high voltage DC Proof/Hipot tester or as a high voltage Megohmmeter. It is used to proof test or megohm cable insulation, switchgear, motors, transformers, insulators, generators and other electrical apparatus. Its combination Hipot/HV Megohmmeter capability makes it extremely versatile, especially for field testing applications.

    PTS-37.5(F)

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-37.5(F) 0 - 37.5kVdc @ 10mA high voltage test set is a highly portable single piece system contained within a rugged case designed for field applications. This model includes a +/- 1% line voltage regulator built in to stabilise the incoming power source.

    PTS-75(F)

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-75(F) 0 - 75kVdc @ 10mA high voltage test set is a single piece DC hipot that comes in a rugged case with storage for all required output leads and cables that are supplied with the unit. Like the 37.5kVdc model this unit has a built in +/- 1% line voltage regulator.

    PTS-80(F)

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-80(F) 0 - 80kVdc @ 10mA high voltage test set is similar to the 75kV version except for the fact that it does not have a built in +/- 1% line voltage regulator. Unlike the smaller DC hipots this unit can be powered from any input source including ‘modified sine wave’ inverters.

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-100(F) 0 – 100kVdc @ 10mA high voltage test set has been designed as a two piece system to aid portability. Like all of the HV Inc DC hipots this units comes complete with all required cables and accessories. An optional 15 metre output cable is available for insulated aerial platform testing.

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-130(F) 0 – 130kVdc @ 10mA high voltage test set is fully adjustable and, like all of the PTS range, can be used as either a DC hipot of Megohmmeter.

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-200(F) 0 – 200kVdc @ 5mA high voltage test set comes with Internal discharge/bleed down resistors. For ease of use all two piese design DC hipots come with a cable storage bin on the HV tank section.

    PTS-300(F)

    The High Voltage, Inc. PTS-300(F) 0 - 300kVdc @ 5mA high voltage test set is designed as a two piece system with a small, portable controller (a bench top version is available) and a single piece high voltage section housed in a fiberglass cylinder with a spinning output.
